House Hunters - Drinking Game

It’s a three-day weekend here in Mpls, but activities have been strictly curtailed due to both a blizzard and a cold. So it’s been an HGTV marathon for me, watching my favorite show House Hunters International. Now House Hunters (domestic) isn’t bad either, as they both follow a typical formula. Thus it lends itself to a drinking game quite well. Here are my proposed rules:

The following events require you to take a drink:

  • Closet shot: A female buyer asking “where are the closets?” immediately after walking into a bedroom.
  • Take it for granite: Whenever a kitchen is shown WITHOUT granite countertops.
  • A sip aside: When they edit in a solo cut of the realtor complaining about unrealistic expectations of the buyer.
  • Sidecar: If the buyer brings a “friend” along to help them pick. Can’t be a spouse or relative.
  • A belt for the Brits: This is only for HHI, but when you’re in a non-UK country, but the realtor assigned to ex-pats is a Brit. Seriously, even Arab countries.
  • Silver surfer: Take TWO drinks every time a property has a silver non-flat screen tv in the house. It must be silver and it must be old school.

You get to give a drink if:

  • You guess the property (1, 2 or 3) the buyer eventually chooses*

*Double the number of drinks you can give if they select one outside their budget. TRIPLE it if they low-ball the offer and save at least $40k.

Have fun. If you have nobody to play with, use #HHI for the hashtag and see if you can get someone to tweet/drink along with you.

LinkedIn launches “Groups” enhancements: See who’s most influential in the group
I think the look/feel changes are nice, but wondering if the focus on discussions and influential members will drive more use by the dreaded “self-promoters”. My guess is yes.

Facebook Revenue May Be Approaching $1B (gigaom.com)

So they’re making hundreds of millions on small ad buys and games. They haven’t even tapped into the main artery or mainstream advertisers or monetizing their public data. They will go public in 2011. They gotta. http://gigaom.com/2010/06/18/facebook-revenue-may-be-approaching-1b/

This is The Pig’s response to hearing aol is selling Bebo. Yeah, mine too.

How is this NOT an ad? No different than a PPC Google ad, no different than buying the largest ad size under a Yellow Pages category. Remember Yellow Pages?
